Privacy Policy - Dog Food Finder

Data we process: Dog Food Finder processes the shopping criteria a user chooses to provide, including budget, dog life stage, breed size, allergies or ingredient avoidances, sensitive-stomach preferences, picky eating, weight goals, food format, and subscription preferences. We also process the request text and the recommendation output needed to answer the request.

We do not ask for payment information, account passwords, government IDs, precise location, names, email addresses, or veterinary records. Do not include a dog's medical records or other sensitive information in a request.

How we use data: Request details are used to filter and rank products, explain tradeoffs, ask follow-up questions, operate the service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information, use shopping criteria for targeted advertising, or build advertising profiles.

Affiliate-click data: When a user voluntarily opens an outbound shopping link, we record the time, app identifier, merchant, product SKU, recommendation rank, broad intent tags, destination URL, and a randomly generated click reference. This data is used to route the click, measure referral performance, allow an approved affiliate network or merchant to attribute a purchase, detect abuse, and debug the service. We do not store the conversation text in affiliate-click records.

Recipients: OpenAI/ChatGPT processes tool inputs and recommendation output under its own terms and privacy policy. Render hosts this service and may process technical request metadata such as IP address, timestamp, URL, client information, and server diagnostics. A selected merchant and approved affiliate network receive click and referral parameters only after a user chooses an outbound link, under their own privacy policies.

Retention and security: Request criteria and recommendation output are processed for the request and are not stored by this application after the request completes. Affiliate-click records are automatically deleted after 30 days. Hosting security and diagnostic logs may be retained by Render under its applicable policies. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

User choices: Providing optional criteria and opening an outbound merchant link are voluntary. Users may ask for access, correction, or deletion of data associated with a click reference by emailing sholtsman29@gmail.com. Requests are handled within 30 days, subject to identity verification and applicable legal exceptions. We may be unable to associate a record with a person because we do not collect account identifiers.

Children and international processing: The service is not directed to children under 13. Data may be processed in the United States or other locations used by OpenAI, Render, merchants, and affiliate networks. We will update this page when practices materially change.

Affiliate disclosure: Dog Food Finder may earn a commission when users buy through partner links. Recommendations rank user fit first.
